俗话说：“秋风起，蟹脚痒。”每年秋天，都是吃大闸蟹的好时节。唐代诗人李白曾赞“蟹螯即金液”。
然而，在英国，大闸蟹却属于入侵物种，让当地人烦恼不已。
大闸蟹，学名中华绒螯蟹，外媒一般把它翻译成：Chinese mitten crab。
大闸蟹的特征就是那毛茸茸的大钳子，“绒鳌蟹”，意为螯足上长满了绒毛的蟹，英文中翻译成mitten，意思是连指手套，还怪形象的嘞。
英国《独立报》（The Independent ）英国最有影响力的全国性日报之一，对最近的“大闸蟹泛滥现象”这样描写道：
An invasive species of crab has been spotted crawling around the waterways of Britain.TheChinese mitten crab, a native of East Asia, was seen alongside waterways in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
一种具有侵略性的螃蟹物种被发现在英国的水道周围爬行。这种中国绒螯蟹原产于东亚，近日出现在剑桥郡和彼得伯勒的水道边。
Peterborough resident Stuart Selby saw one crossing a busy road and described the sight as “bizarre”.
彼得伯勒居民斯图尔特·塞尔比（Stuart Selby）看到一只中华绒螯蟹正横穿过一条繁忙的马路，并用“怪异”来形容这一景象。
大家可能觉得很奇怪，大闸蟹如此美味，价格又昂贵，这英国人也太不识货了吧？！
英国人为何如此嫌弃大闸蟹？事实上，英国人和大闸蟹的缘分早从88年前就开始了。
The first mitten crab was recorded in the River Thamesnear Chelsea, London, in 1935. Since then its population has exploded.
1935年，伦敦切尔西附近的泰晤士河出现了有记录以来第一只中华绒螯蟹。从那时起，绒螯蟹的数量呈爆炸式增长。
The species, which have furry claws resembling mittens, had become well-established in Britain by the 1990s, research shows.
研究表明，到20世纪90年代，这种爪子毛茸茸、酷似手套的螃蟹已经在英国扎根。
在英国媒体笔下，大闸蟹几乎就是作恶多端的“蟹霸王”，罪行如下：
The crabs live in rivers, canals and estuaries, and can damage river banks, compete with native species, block water outlets and damage fishing gearwith their claws, according to the Natural History Museum.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, it is an offence to release or allow the species to escape into the wild in Britain.

Research has shown the crabs also eat salmon and trout eggs – native fish species which are already under threat in the wild.
研究表明，中华绒螯蟹还吃鲑鱼和鳟鱼卵——这些本地鱼种在野外已经受到威胁。
The scientists plan to freeze the crabs they catch, and then hope to be able to dissect them to find out what they have been feeding on. “If we can, we will do some DNA analysis on the digested guts.”
科学家们计划将捕捉到的螃蟹冷冻起来，然后希望能够对它们进行解剖，找出它们以什么为食。“如果可以的话，我们将对消化的肠道进行DNA分析。”
It is classified by conservationists as one of the 100 worstinvasive alien speciesin the world.The group has constructed and installed the UK’s first Chinese mitten crab trap at Pode Hole in Lincolnshire, to catch the voracious predators as they migrate downstream to mate.
